Banshees

Banshees are perhaps the least described of the non-beings in Harry Potter.1 While considered an amortal spirit, we know nothing of their intelligence, adherence to other mythological traditions, with the exception that Mrs. Rowling apparently wants to allow for "good" banshees.2
